Plastic surgery Instagram inquiries
By David Cyrus, Founder and CEO of Attainment. Published October 15, 2026.
A new patient often starts with an Instagram message and a few photos. This page shows what happens to that message, and those photos, when Aida answers it.
It follows one published client story from a Toronto rhinoplasty practice and describes what that practice and Attainment set up together. Aida is the AI agent from Attainment. It does not assess photos, judge candidacy or give medical advice.
Aida answers routine questions in the practice's voice, holds unusual replies for approval, and directs photos to a secure form.
Illustration only. Emma is a sample patient asking about rhinoplasty, with photos. The steps follow how Aida works at the practice in the story.
| Step | Before | With Aida by Attainment |
|---|---|---|
| Message arrives | A team member reads Emma's message and comments by hand. | Aida receives the message on the practice's Instagram account. |
| Routine question, such as other procedures | Staff write the reply. | Aida answers from the practice's approved answers, in the practice's voice. Routine replies go out automatically. |
| Unusual question | Staff work out an answer and write it. | The reply waits for the practice's approval. Edits the team makes can become approved guidance for similar questions. |
| Photos | Staff open the pictures that come in with the message. | Aida directs Emma to the practice's secure consultation form to share them. |
| Emma asks if she is a candidate | A person reads the question and decides how to reply. | Aida does not assess photos over Instagram or judge candidacy. It points Emma to a consultation request, where the surgeon looks at her photos with her goals. |
| Promotional or vendor message | Staff read it and decide what to do. | Left unanswered and flagged to the team. |
| What the team sees next | Staff go through the comments and pictures by hand. | At the practice in the story, a portal shows the surgeon Emma's goals and photos together. He approves or declines. After approval, the office manager gets a notice and arranges the visit. |
“Before using an AI agent, we would have to manually go through, look at the patient's comments and the pictures that would come in ... It was a bit clunky.”
Aida does not assess photos. It directs patients to the secure consultation form, where the surgeon reviews them with their goals.
For that practice, Attainment improved the existing form and built the portal.
The practice supplies approved answers and voice rules, sets its policies, and approves unusual replies. Clinical decisions stay with the surgeon.

Dr. Oakley Smith, a Toronto rhinoplasty surgeon, let Aida answer his practice's Instagram messages in the practice's voice.

The practice supplies policies and sample answers, then reviews drafts before go-live. Dr. Smith's team reviewed five rounds of draft replies.
Aida can answer a practice's Instagram messages once we set it up with your account and approved answers.
Good fit: inquiries start in Instagram messages and the team repeats answers. Not a fit: the practice wants clinical judgment in messages.
