What is ABELDent?

ABELDent is practice management software built specifically for Canadian dental offices. Developed by ABELSoft Inc. in Ottawa, it is one of the most widely used dental PMS platforms in Canada, covering scheduling, billing, charting, and patient records.

ABELDent is available in two editions: ABELDent Local, which runs on the practice's own server, and ABELDent Cloud, which is hosted by ABELSoft. Both editions manage the full lifecycle of a patient visit: scheduling, clinical charting, billing, insurance claims, and recall.

For practices already on ABELDent, adding an AI receptionist means choosing a tool that connects directly to the system you already use. Aida reads availability from ABELDent in real time and writes appointments back in on every call. ABELDent, Aida, and PHIPA compliance

ABELDent is built by a Canadian company and keeps patient records in Canada. Aida stores call data on Canadian servers. The full patient data flow between Aida and ABELDent stays within Canada and satisfies PHIPA requirements.

Most US-based dental AI receptionists carry a HIPAA badge. HIPAA does not apply in Canada. Ontario dental practices are governed by PHIPA. A core PHIPA requirement is that personal health information stay in Canada or in a jurisdiction with equivalent protections.

ABELDent, developed and hosted by ABELSoft Inc. in Ottawa, keeps patient records in Canada. Aida stores all call data on Canadian servers. The API connection between Aida and ABELDent is encrypted using TLS 1.3. No patient data leaves Canada in this integration.

If the ABELDent connection is unavailable, Aida collects the patient's name, phone number, and appointment request and flags the booking for manual follow-up by your front desk. No call is lost and no patient is left without a response.

How long does the ABELDent integration take to set up?

The ABELDent integration is configured during the standard Aida onboarding process, which takes two to four business days. Our team handles the technical setup and tests the connection before your practice goes live.

Does Aida support appointment reminders in ABELDent?

Aida focuses on inbound call answering and appointment booking. For automated reminders, your existing ABELDent reminder tools or a connected patient communication platform handle that workflow. Aida and reminder tools operate independently without conflict.
