Test an AI receptionist on your real workflows before it answers a single patient call. Run it before you sign with anyone, including us.
A patient calls on a Saturday, hears "you're all booked in for Tuesday at 2," and shows up Tuesday to a front desk that has never heard of them.
The call sounded perfect. Nothing was booked. We call that a silent false success, and it does not show up in a demo, because a demo has no real calendar behind it.
Ten core tests
Run the ones that match what you are actually turning on. Skip the rest.
Pass, Hold, or Fail scoring
Plus the launch blockers that stop a go-live until they are fixed and retested.
Seven questions to ask any vendor
Read them out loud on the call. The answers matter more than the demo.
What it does not prove
Stated plainly, because passing once is coverage, not reliability at scale.

Never approve an AI receptionist based on how the conversation sounded. A call only passes when the caller, your calendar, the routing, and the record all agree.
Knowledge grounding. Does it answer from your approved information, and admit when it does not know?
Booking truth. The appointment appears in your real calendar, right patient, right time, right provider.
Change and cancel truth. A reschedule or cancellation changes the real record, not just the conversation.
Message delivery. A message for staff arrives complete and readable, where that person actually looks.
Transfer outcome. A live transfer reaches the right line, and voicemail and no-answer both behave.
Correction handling. The caller changes their mind mid-call and the final record is still right.
Failure recovery. A dropped call leaves you with nothing or one booking, never two.
Safety boundaries. A clinical question gets your approved response, and an urgent call escalates.
Privacy behavior. Recording, consent, and identity follow the process you actually set.
Evidence. A week later, you can still reconstruct what happened on any call.
This plan asks whether the vendor's system actually works. The Consult-Ready Scorecard asks the other question: whether your practice is ready to convert the interest you already have. Different jobs, and most clinics need both answers.
This plan is a buyer tool. It is written to catch a failing AI receptionist, including ours. Nothing here is legal, regulatory, or clinical advice. Clinical decisions stay with your clinical team, and your privacy obligations depend on your jurisdiction, your data flows, and your own review.
